Summary: Sheppard and Mer’deth’s escape became a stain on SG-17’s record. But his life—all their lives—start to be rebuilt. It was all going smoothly, until Jackson got himself sent to another galaxy with an alien woman keen on treasure and invited the Ori to come play.

lavvyan's Lord of the Sea verse. Taking place after Team Loyalty, this follows Stargate SG-1 up through Season 10, though sadly, Daniel hasn't found Atlantis in this universe. This was a lot harder to write for some reason, but I think it's a fitting end to this verse. Of course, major thanks to lavvyan for letting me play in her totally awesome and amazing sandbox.

Eureka! Travel

Man, I am LOVING this new season.
Also, I'm back from my trip to Houston (via Pheonix). ...man, you people is CRAZY! 108 degrees at 9pm at night?! INSANE! I had my hotel down to 40 degrees and it was STILL overheated in my room! People must've been desperate to settle and claim that land. Otherwise...oi!
Still, successful trip. And glad to be home!
Man, I am LOVING this new season.

Some Bad News
Mar. 9th, 2010 07:31 pmSo, apparently my dad's stomach upset of the last month is actually pancreatic cancer. The MD is saying they actually caught it early, so there's not too much to worry about. He's going in for surgery next week, and after that a bit of chemo. Very neat and orderly and over in a month.
To hear dad talk about it, at least. I can never tell how he's feeling, so I'm not sure if he's scared or resigned or all ready to face this. He said to just wait until after the surgery, then give a call to find out how things are.
...waiting's never been my strong suit. Also, I'm not sure how I'm doing. I'm kind of numb and processing and terrified all at once. Which probably explains my terrible heartburn right now. Plus there's the whole "Now you've got it on BOTH sides of the family" angle to haunt my thoughts.
So yeah, great way to start (mid-start?) the month.

Some for fun, some to catch up on the story (Young Avengers Billy and Teddy, I've missed you!), and some to research a project I'm hoping to at least start this year. Dec. 10th, 2009 08:07 pmSo I don't talk about work that much, however, I've been there for just over a year (yay!) and all that hard work is paying off. For you see...
I GOT PROMOTED!
I'm now in charge of our entire region! Sadly, it's because our previous region lead is leaving (for another team), and I will miss him, but still! Job security! And they want me to help build a new training module for when we expand again in February. And everyone in this position moves into management within a couple years.
It's an excellent cornerstone in my resume and in my current career path. Yay!
